The Inspiration Networks to Air Live 'Concert of Hope' on September 3 to Aid Victims of Katrina

Programming Pre-empted on Three Networks to Provide Awareness, Hope and Healing in Support of Their Relief Efforts

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Inspiration Networks today announced it will pre-empt regular programming across three of its cable networks the evening of Saturday, Sept. 3 to broadcast "A Concert of Hope," a live television event to generate critically needed relief supplies and hope for victims of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

The Inspiration Networks and Convoy of Hope have been on the scene in the impacted areas since Sunday, August 28. More than 30 truckloads of ice, water and food are already in the region or en route. The Inspiration Networks and Convoy of Hope are preparing for a response that will require hundreds of additional loads of supplies in the weeks ahead.

"In the face of Katrina's devastation -- which has reached biblical proportions across Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama -- we wanted to mobilize all of our networks' resources in order to challenge and provide our viewers with a channel to reach out with compassion to the victims of this terrible tragedy," said David Cerullo, President and CEO of The Inspiration Networks. "We have a unique opportunity to minister the love of Christ to individuals whose lives have been completely destroyed. In the face of tremendous despair, we want to encourage and remind them that there is hope."

The three-hour telethon, to be broadcast across INSP, i-Lifetv and Inspiration Network International to 80 million households in 38 different nations, will be anchored by David and Barbara Cerullo, hosts of the daily "Inspiration Today" program. The telecast will feature musical performances by Christian artists and special messages from major Christian leaders, national ministries and political leaders.

Donations will be designated towards Convoy of Hope, (http://www.convoyofhope.org/ ), the humanitarian outreach of the ministry, which established distribution points in affected areas within hours of the disaster.

The Inspiration Networks is donating airtime and staff members are volunteering their own efforts towards this important project. In addition, INSP welcomes local volunteers to help staff the phone lines. NEW YORK, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- MTV: Music Television today announced the premiere of ROCKED: SUM 41 IN CONGO, a new 30-minute MTV News & Docs special on the turmoil in Congo, as seen through the eyes of the acclaimed rock band Sum 41. The special will air on September 21 at 7 p.m., in recognition of the International Day of Peace, established by the U.N. "to devote a specific time to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples."

The documentary is part of think MTV, the network's pro-social initiative which aims to inform and empower its audience on the issues that matter to them most, including education, sexual health, discrimination, and the environment. think MTV: Global will examine international poverty, AIDS, the effects of war, and other issues of global concern to young people.

ROCKED: SUM 41 IN CONGO documents the band's ten-day trip to the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with War Child Canada, a registered Canadian charity that provides humanitarian assistance to children affected by war. In order to expose the devastating impact of the longstanding civil war on Congolese children, the band meets with former child soldiers, victims of rape, UN and aid officials and many other war-affected Congolese. The special also tracks the band's much-publicized evacuation from Congo, assisted by Canadian peacekeeper Chuck Pelletier, after a sudden and unexpected outbreak of violence between government soldiers and troops loyal to a renegade commander. (The band subsequently named their most recent album Chuck in his honor.) More than 3 million people have been killed in the Congo during the past 6 years.

One Hour Special Town Hall Meeting 'Katrina: The Response' to Air on September 16

WASHINGTON, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Shareholders of The Washington Post Company (NYSE:WPO) should know that among Cable One's 700,000 customers, 160,000 are in the state of Mississippi; of those, about 100,000 are on the Gulf Coast. Cable One is the cable franchise holder for Gulfport, Biloxi, Pascagoula and neighboring communities where storm damage was extraordinary. Revenues from all our Gulf Coast systems were $68 million in 2004.

More than 170 Washington Post Company people work in those systems. We have been in touch with many, but by no means all. We know of no deaths or major injuries, but a significant number of homes are totally lost.

Since these communities have no power, there is no cable service. It may be some time before most people return to their home towns. LONDON, September 2/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United Business Media ("UBM") today announced that it has completed the
sale of its 35.4% shareholding in Channel 5 Television Group Limited ("Five")
to the RTL Group ("RTL") for GBP247.6m in cash. The agreement to sell this
stake was announced on 20 July 2005. In 2004 under UK GAAP accounting Five
generated GBP288.8m of revenue and GBP19.5m of operating profit. The disposal
of Five is not expected to generate any tax liability for UBM. The proceeds
will be retained for reinvestment in UBM's businesses.

Animal Planet Australia: Wild Extremes depicts a typical remote river gorge in Australia's Northern Territory, and when fully inhabited in December, it will be home to 1,800 individual native animals representing 120 species, including freshwater crocodiles, turtles, fishes, free-flying birds and flying foxes.

This slice of Australia in Baltimore will offer visitors a truly immersive experience: as they walk through the bottom of the gorge, they will come nose to nose with free-roaming lizards basking on rocky cliffs, see colorful birds swooping and squawking overhead, perhaps feel a squirt of water as an archer fish hunts for its food, view flying foxes hanging from cliffside trees and appreciate the thick acrylic that separates them from the freshwater crocodiles and venomous death adder snakes.

The new habitat depicting this land of flood, drought and fire has been hand-carved and painted, parts of the exhibitry have been scorched to represent fires from lightning strikes, the life support systems are starting up, the 35-foot waterfall is running, more than 150 indigenous trees and plants are thriving and the animal enclosures have been scrubbed. The building is now nearly ready to accommodate animals and their caretakers.

The remaining four months before the new exhibit opens will be a busy time for animal and exhibit staffs as final preparations are made and animals are moved into their new homes. A colony of gray-headed flying foxes, fruit bats with wings that span over three feet, will be the first animals introduced to the exhibit in September. The bats require several weeks of acclimation to explore their new surroundings and learn how to safely move through their new habitat.

After animal curators are satisfied that the bats are settled, the other species will be moved into the new exhibit, among them Australian lungfish, frilled dragons, rainbow lorikeets, laughing kookaburras, cockatoos and Johnston's freshwater crocodiles, along with dozens of snake neck and pig nose turtles, snakes and other lizards and fish.

The animals, many from Australia, began arriving in Baltimore in late 2002 and have been living -- and growing -- at the Aquarium's off-site animal care center for the past few years. Among the largest of the animals that will live in the new habitat are the three to four foot long barramundi fish, five foot long crocodiles and the flying foxes.

Why did the National Aquarium in Baltimore mount this challenging and years-long effort to depict a remote part of Australia? "Once this exhibit is open we expect to introduce 1.8 million visitors to Australia's fascinating sights, animals and culture each year," said Jack Cover, the Aquarium's general curator. "We have worked hard to make the exhibit as authentic as possible and hope that after their visit more people will want to travel to Australia and experience this incredible environment first-hand."

The building is the Aquarium's first expansion since 1990 and will offer improved visitor amenities in addition to the exhibit. The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Waterfront Park, under construction in front of the new building, will be completed by the end of October. A new Wall Street Journal Online/Harris Interactive Personal Finance Poll finds that nearly two-thirds of U-S adults have taken one or more steps to ensure that their finances are handled properly should they die or become incapacitated; however, the concrete nature of this preparation varies. While nearly half of all adults say they have discussed their wishes with their friends and family, only about one-third have gone as far as drawing up a will, and nearly one-quarter have named a health-care proxy. Other steps taken include designating a power of attorney, working with a financial adviser, and setting up a revocable trust. Of note, nearly one-third of adults say they have done nothing to ensure that their finances are handled properly if they should become incapacitated or die.

Teen People Releases Results of Third Annual Teen Sex Survey

TEEN PEOPLE will release its third annual Teen Sex Survey in its October issue, on stands September 2nd. The survey, which was conducted on-line and includes responses from more than five thousand TEEN PEOPLE readers and Trendspotters between the ages of 13 and 24. Participants were asked to answer one of two groups of questions, one for virgins and the other for non-virgins. A total of four thousand, eight one virgins answered questions, as opposed to one thousand, five hundred twenty six non-virgins. According to the survey, of those teenagers who are sexually active the largest percentage are having sex because they believe they are in love. Of those teenagers not having sex, 42 percent are waiting to meet the right person; maintaining a good reputation is important to most virgins, and 39 percent have taken a pledge to remain chaste until marriage.
